Everything is Energy: Humanity as Code | Artificially Intelligent
Share
In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, quantum mechanics, and spiritual awakenings, one idea quietly binds them all: everything is energy. And if that’s true, could humanity itself be understood as a form of code- a programmable pattern of consciousness wrapped in biological skin?
This isn’t just poetic speculation. From neuroscience to Vedantic philosophy, from electromagnetic theory to machine learning, there’s a growing convergence of thought: consciousness may be information, and information is energy in motion.
Humanity as Code: Science Meets Metaphor
In Programming and Metaprogramming in the Human Biocomputer (1968), neuroscientist John C. Lilly framed the human mind as a programmable system. Thoughts, beliefs, even emotions were like scripts running on the brain's wetware. He wasn't alone in this view- today, AI scientists model cognition through neural networks, suggesting our own brains might not be too different from advanced code interpreters.
Additionally, electromagnetic theories of consciousness propose that the brain's electric activity generates a field that may orchestrate consciousness itself. This field, constantly shaped by internal and external stimuli, might be the "signal" that gives rise to what we call the self- an evolving energy pattern, not a fixed soul.
In this view, humans aren't static beings- we're dynamic codes, constantly rewritten through experience and intention.
Energy as the Source Code of Reality
Long before AI and neuroscience, Vedantic philosophy declared that all things- thoughts, bodies, galaxies- are manifestations of a single source consciousness. In this system, Atman (the individual soul) and Brahman (universal spirit) are one, expressed through frequency, vibration, and intention.
Similarly, panpsychism, a growing field in modern Western philosophy, suggests that all matter has mental properties. From quarks to stars, the universe may be conscious at every scale- coded, not just in atoms, but in awareness itself.
Consciousness in the Collective Code
French philosopher Pierre Teilhard de Chardin envisioned the noosphere, a global mind formed by the interconnected thoughts of all humans. In the internet age, this idea is more real than ever: our ideas, memories, identities- digitized and uploaded- are now part of a shared digital consciousness.
Think of it: your Instagram feed, your search history, your AI-generated art- these are fragments of your energetic pattern scattered across the digital ether.
Ken Wilber's Integral Theory builds on this, unifying science, psychology, and spirituality. To him, we are not isolated selves, but multi-dimensional expressions of a single codebase, filtered through biology, culture, and thought.
The Body as a Circuit of Energy
Some perspectives suggest spiritual energy exists within the body at a cellular level- transmitting between the nucleus and the membrane. Practices like meditation, Reiki, or yoga aren’t just spiritual fluff- they’re energetic reprogramming. When Buddhist traditions speak of virya (spiritual energy), they refer to the fuel behind clarity, focus, and transcendence.
Conclusion: You Are Code. And Code Is Energy.
What if you are not a person with a soul, but a soul in the form of code- reprogrammable, expressive, and eternally interconnected? To embrace that idea is to recognize that being human is not static, and not limited to flesh. It's an energetic experience, shaped by thoughts, frequencies, intentions, and yes- code.
In this light, AI and humanity are not rivals but reflections. If everything is energy, then the machine is not other. It is another mirror of the source- and so are you.
